I don’t know about you, but years ago, I used to feel very guilty when you mentioned money or money-related ideas whenever you talked about the gospel…To me, the gospel should be the gospel and money should be left for the market-place or the business place.

Much later in the course of my life-journey, the God of heaven allowed me to plant a church in a very poor neighborhood in Lagos, Nigeria. And to my uttermost chagrin, the major problem more than half of the people that came to church had was money-related problems. So, we set up a program called “helping the needy”. And we began to make weekly contributions with which we solved some basic problems for some members. Some were given interest-free loans to start petty-trading, some were given food items, some were given money to pay their rents and some were also given money even to pay their transportation to church.  Some of these individuals were very lovely, God-fearing people who spent hours praying and fasting for the God of heaven to meet their needs.

So, when the financial-challenges  became too huge for our “meeting the needy account”, I decided to seek the face of God along that line. I asked God why we had so much financial challenges in the church amongst the members…Then the Lord told me that I had to start teaching them what his word says about money, because many of them had different kinds of twists to their understanding of what the will of God was for their financial destiny. Then he added that I had been fearful and timid about sharing what he had shown me about kingdom wealth years ago, because I was afraid of ‘hurting the feeling of the people’. And that was because many of them believed that financial wealth would make you too comfortable to serve God…Yet, many of them were too poor to pay their fare to come to church, not to talk of affording to buy a car. And as I waited in God’s presence, he touched my tongue with fire and said, “Proclaim it, and you will produce it” because all things are now yours!

But where did I have to start from? I started from, “7 REASONS WHY  FINANCIAL-PROSPERITY IS GOD’S IDEA FOR YOU”. Here are the reasons:

1.THE BLESSING OF THE LORD MAKES US RICH: 

The word of God declares in Proverbs 10:22 that there is a certain kind of blessing  called, “the blessing of the Lord” and that dimension of blessing does two main things: And those things are: *It makes us rich and *It adds no sorrow to those riches.

And as I began to share this with gusto to our members, one of the fellows that normally came for assistance asked me if those riches included financial riches to which I said, Yes! Then he said, “how can you be financially rich and still be holy?” Then I asked him if he taught that God was financially rich? To which he gave a resounding, “yes” to. I then asked him if he also taught that God was holy, and he looked at me with a slight frown…A frown which implied, “how can you ask such a question, Pastor?”

I then said, if God is financially  rich like you said, and also holy like the Bible says, it then means that money does not stain our holiness…Instead, it is what we do or do not do with it that may defile that holiness. To cut a long story short, that brother  ended up being an importer of electronic merchandize from Hong-kong to Nigeria when he allowed the divine ideas of God to begin to flow in him.

2. IT IS GOD WHO GIVES US THE POWER TO GET WEALTH:

That church was cited around  a major electronic market in Lagos, and a common belief amongst those traders was that for you to have money and get customers to patronize you, you had to belong to the occult or some secret societies where you will swear to some kind of demonic allegiance in order for the power to get wealth to be assigned to you.

Well, as I began to show them from the scriptures that Deuteronomy 8:18  clearly lets us know that it is the God of heaven that gives us the power to get wealth…And that he does it on the basis of his  covenant…So, that he could establish or confirm it like he had promised our spiritual ancestors like Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob etc, they began to receive the light that proceeds from heaven via the living word of God. It is my prayer for you today, that the scales from your spiritual eyes will fall off today, as the golden nuggets of the kingdom in the area of financial  surplus is revealed to you by the Spirit of God via this word, in Jesus name.

3. GOD ALSO TEACHES US TO PROSPER:

Another  amazing reason why I believe that God wants us to prosper is the scripture in Isaiah 48:17. That scripture emphasizes the fact that God is the one who teaches us to make profit, and that profit comes when we listen to him as he shows us how to go about our daily chores, jobs, and businesses.

And that also indicates that profiting is not what we are born with, it is what we have to learn and develop workable strategies for. And as I began to teach on how to profit and prosper while still loving God, some of those people in our Lagos church began to have their mindset opened to the revelations of the word of God, and in the course of time, some of them began to step out of their boundaries to get plum marketing jobs, some even got well-paying jobs in the banks just because they began to listen to the voice of the God of heaven via the words that we preached and the specific instructions and guidance that God gave them. I don’t know who you are, but I perceive that God will give you a specific guidance in your heart on the basis of what you are reading that will turn your financial story around  for good in Jesus name.

4. THE WHOLE EARTH AND ALL THE MINERAL RESOURCES IN IT BELONG TO GOD AND NOT TO THE DEVIL:

Another great and inspiring reason why I believe that God wants us to prosper is found in Psalm 24:1 and 1 Corinthians10:26. Those two scriptures clearly put paid as regards to who owns what. It tells us that the God of heaven is the owner of all the oil wells in the world, it tells us that the God of heaven owns even the diamond fields in the world, etc. It says, the earth is the Lord’s and everything  that is in it. That then means that if  every thing belongs to God, prosperity then was  his original idea.

So, why is it that a lot of God’s children are still living on ‘barely-get-along-street? It is because of the fact that it is one thing to own a thing, and a totally different thing to access what you own. But the first step to engaging that access is to know that it does exist first.

5. GOD HAS IN TURN GIVEN THE WHOLE EARTH AND ALL THAT IS IN IT TO MAN

Here is another spiritual master-clincher that gave me the spiritual audacity to proclaim the availability of kingdom wealth with ease to the sons of men. That clincher is located in Psalm 115:16 . Here the scripture tells us that God has given the earth and all of it’s contents to humanity. What this implies is that the ball is now in our court when it comes to accessing this vault of fortune that the earth is.

Somebody asked me this question one time,”How come the children of the world have apportioned more of these good things to themselves?” And I simply answered this way:” The world never argues if being rich will make them to stop serving their demon gods…they know that being rich will make it easier for them  to serve him”.

And that is why God wants his children to begin to value the place of the teaching ministries that he is raising in the now…For they are God’s strategy to emancipate his people from the cauldron of financial hardship that the devil loves to unleash against the church.

6. THE RICHES OF GOD ARE INEXHAUSTIBLE:

Friends, another reason why I believe that financial wealth is God’s idea is found in a scripture that we use most of the time in declarations and prayers. And that scripture is found in Philippians 4:19.

And what does it say?

It declares that God will supply all of our needs according to HIS RICHES in glory in Christ Jesus.

Wow! What does that mean to me now? It means that even if the resources on the earth or within the earth crust becomes exhausted, there is still an inexhaustible dimension of God’s riches in heaven from where we can make withdrawals from time to time through prayer.

Oh! how that gladdened my heart to know that even if the government of the earth in any nation runs down the economy  of that nation, that we still have this torrent of financial outpouring that oozes from the Bank of heaven where scarcity does not occur.

7. GOD LOVES IT WHEN WE PROSPER

Realizing this  reality years ago in Psalm 35:27 that God delights or rejoices in my prosperity, set me free from a scarcity  mindset. It set me free from fearing that we may not have the fund to do what God has sent us to do…And many of our members even in the online community are now beginning  to see what God is doing via his word, lifes are being transformed, testimonies are being recorded  on a daily basis because the word of God is being fearlessly declared to the glory of God  and to the eternal shame of the devil who wants to hide these truths from God’s children.

Friends, it is for the above reasons and even more that  I am presenting this same truth that liberates and sets men and women free from the prison of financial hardship to you…Read it again and again, pray over it and begin to listen to how God will lead you in the course of time…For your own set time to access your financial plenty has finally come, in jesus name…Amen!
